BGG@Home

In an effort to promote SpielMas, I hosted ten events where I taught six different games over the five days of BGG@Home, the alternative to Board Game Geek’s annual convention.

I knew how to play Wingspan, so I taught that four times. I also knew how to play Alien Frontiers but wanted to learn how to play Calico, Nova Luna, Everdell, and Parks. We played all of our games on Tabletopia, who gave us all a week-long premium account and the opportunity to dive deeper into that platform.

When the last game ended on Sunday, I was exhausted but deeply fulfilled. I met a lot of great people and really enjoyed sharing the experience of tabletop gaming. I even had a number of repeat attendees, including Karen, Marc, and Carmen, as well as Nikki from All The Points. And we all want to play more games after the convention; Carmen wants to schedule a make-up game of Alien Frontiers. Deal!

Inspiration

Karen and Nikki suggested I set up a Discord server to talk more about SpielMas. Karen is also a Herald at Envoy Gateway, where they teach people how to play games from over 50 publishers.

But most surprising was Tyler (BinaryPrezel) learning and winning Nova Luna during my event and then being so inspired by the concept of SpielMas that he created a 3D design for a display.

Thank you all for playing with me and spreading the spirit of SpielMas!
